update 4: Thanks so much for your help! I now have my Block Erupter up and running alongside my GPU. Hi upgrading to cgminer 3.6.2 I noticed that MultiMiner 1.3.42 not detect usb devices erupter block in my case, Im using windows 8 with usb driver zadig. I'm a little noobish yet with mining, so I'm not sure what this means. it shows up something like 520/436/600Mh/s. Oddly enough, I'm showing 3 sets of hashes.
update 3: Switched to bfgminer and that seems to be working. edit edit: installed zadig and replaced the driver, and removed the -S //./COM3, and now I just get "No devices detected!" I think I have the drivers installed and I can see my device on COM3. below for getting started with USB ASICs. Configuring them uses the same mechanism as outlined. Also note that the AMU is managed by the Icarus driver which is detailed.
ASICMINER devices need the -enable-icarus option when compiling cgminer. I'm running Vista 32 bit (ugh) with CGMiner 3.3.0. ASICMINER block erupters will come up as AMU. I'm having trouble getting my Block Erupter to mine for me.
