Chief and The Weapon then begin moving to the SIlent Auditorium to stop The Harbinger while Echo 216 searches for a new Pelican. After getting Echo 216 out of his containment field, Chief laments that ultimately, Escharum was like him a soldier trying to do what he felt was right for his people. The defeated War Chief asks the Chief to "tell them that I died well," convinced that his legend will inspire countless Banished troops. Once the smoke clears between the two legendary warriors, Master Chief is found triumphantly standing over the dying Escharum. After Chief destroys all four of these relays, Escharum will cast aside his Scrap Cannon and charge the Spartan with his Gravity Hammer. The pair exchange fire until Escharum activates a special energy shield that makes him impervious to all damage, but The Weapon is able to counter by exposing the energy relays that power it.

If Cortana was in Zeta Halo and had the Guardians plus lots of AI on her side, why didn't she fight the Banished invasion on Zeta Halo? (in the flashbacks it seemed like Atriox caught her by surprise?) Or basically, where are the Guardians?ħ.
(Now this is where it gets a bit tricky for me)Ħ. Atriox attacks and defeats the UNSC force orbiting Halo but it seems The Infinity escapes (?). UNSC Infinity arrives on Zeta Halo, somehow sends The Weapon down there and into the Halo's "network".ĥ. In the meantime, Cortana tried to force Atriox and the Banished to surrender to her, by destroying their planet.Ĥ. UNSC Infinity along with Halsey and Chief came up with a plan to infiltrate Zeta Halo and capture Cortana.ģ. Cortana was in Zeta Halo at the end of Halo 5, and she had the Guardians and a lot of AI on her side.Ģ. I know it's kind of told in non-sequential order via Cortana's "dust and echoes" flashbacks, and I guess one's supposed to not know what's happening with the weapon vs Cortana, but.
So, I'm not entirely sure I understand the timeline of events in the game (sorry, I'm old and slow).
